I hear you on the radio
You penetrate my screen - it's unkind
But if I met you in a scissor fight
I'd cut off both your wings on principle alone.

Name; Garret Dunstan
Nicknames; Dunstan, Manipulate
Age; Thirty six
Date of Birth; 1st January 1973
Nationality; ½ English, ½ Welsh
Orientation; Heterosexual
Medical Information; n/a
Occupation/team; Paladin
Languages spoken/accent; Most European and some Asian, fluently
Scars; A large black oval on his right kneecap, giving him a slight limp, as well as various other burns on his body
Tattoos/Piercings; The Paladin tattoo (a black silhouette of a knight piece from a standard chess set, on the heel of the right hand)
Height; 5”10
Weight; 157lb
Eyes; Dark brown, and narrow
Hair; Short sandy brown/blond, with bangs over his eyes
Build; Strongly built
Distingushing features; Paladin tattoo, and the burns on his body
Appearance; There’s nothing all that distinguishing about this strongly built man except for the limp in his right leg and the fact that his body is peppered with burns of varying degrees and sizes. His hair is a sort of sandy colour midway between blond and brown and falls contrastingly attractively over his eyes in a pair of bangs, his eyes are permanently narrowed in a dark brown shade, and he’s pretty damn tall. Oh, and frankly if you don’t know what the horse head tattoo on his hand means then watch your back or stay away from him if you value your life. He also has a beard and moustache (of sorts) the same colour as his hair.
Garret dresses, like the rest of the Paladins, in simple suits which are black or white, depending on your status; white for the higher-ups, black for the mercenaries, newbies and less higher-ups. His shoes reflect this smart attire, being plain black loafers which few people have any memory of him not wearing, and occasionally he’ll wear a tie. In a rare moment of brains, he realizes that the more inconspicuous he looks the easier his job is. When he’s working there may be a set of knuckle dusters in there too, and he will most definitely not be without a weapon.

Personality; You don’t trust Garret Dunstan. To try and do so is a contradiction to the very fabric of his life. He is cruel, merciless and a loose cannon to any cause but The Paladin Guards, towards whom he shows unparalleled and scarily uncharacteristic loyalty. Garret is the kind of person who shoots or makes his move first and doesn’t even consider asking questions, and is increasingly reluctant to take prisoners when instructed to do, preferring to just outright murder them, and despite his worth to them and his status in The Paladins they’ve learnt to give him pretty specific directions.
You wouldn’t want to meet this guy in a dark alley way, that’s for sure. Usually highly caffeinated, his incredible bulk means that it takes a lot for him to slow down and even more to wear him out in the slightest, and his adept skill with his pheromone manipulative powers make him a force to be reckoned with if you’re on his bad side. Intelligence is certainly the losing side of his brain, and the odd witty comment surprises anyone. He’s a simple man of simple… Well, do we want to use the word pleasures?
Phobias/fears; Pyrophobia (fire)
Strengths; No scruples, strong supernatural prowess, good body strength, and dedicated
Weaknesses; Limited education, fear of flames, unreliable, violent, slight limp in his right leg, doesn’t fully understand The Paladins, and one-track-minded
Skills; Bloody strong, and can use most knifes and guns with little training
Powers; Pheromone manipulation: The ability to generate and control a person’s urges and emotions through pheromones. Garret’s skill in this field is extreme, and he is considered somewhat amazing within the Paladin Guards. It does, however, take him a few minutes to conjure up and utilize the pheromones, but once they’re there the supplies continue to generate and are pretty much unlimited until he passes out from what is effectively a loss of necessary hormones and liquids… But that takes him a while.
Relationships; Garret isn’t really one to keep any solid relationships. He gets on fine with his employees and colleagues, he has nothing in particular against the general public, and he hates his enemies and anyone The Paladins are after. It’s simple enough for him to remember. Which is kind of necessary. He does have a sister, but when he turned sixteen he abandoned her, aged eight, into care, and hasn’t seen her since.
History; Most of what you are about to hear has been stricken from most records. Garret Dunstan, better known in circles as Manipulate, was born to a loving family to an English father who was head of the police force in Nottingham and a Welsh mother. He has a little sister eight years younger than him. He had friends, a life, and a future ahead of him, until the day that the fire tore everything away from him, his sanity included. A mafia-like gang had targeted the family with the intention of killing them all, because of his father’s police force position. His parents were killed, and he was left scarred by the burns. His younger sister survived unscatched, too young to really remember the events, and the pair were put into care.
It was here that his life went downhill in a vicious spiral. He didn’t care for people, for school, or for his life, and tried to commit suicide at the age of eleven. By then, he’d picked up a reputation in the local school for torturing animals and carrying a knife, and was always avoided. Which suited him; being alone, and being violent, plotting a revenge for the father he had seen as a Modern Day Sheriff of Nottingham.
When he heard about The Paladins through a misposted letter at the age of approximately twenty-five, he knew he had to join. His life was going to the dogs, and his criminal record was on the verge of imprisonment for at least six years, how could his life get any worse? And besides, The Paladins were after that Robin Hood lot he’d heard about, and now merciless beyond compare and his thoughts twisted the conclusion was made that Robin Hood and the Sheriff of Nottingham were enemies. His parent’s killers had never been found, so surely these kids had some link to the killers.
Of course they did not, but that did not deter Garett. Since he’d abandoned his little sister when he turned sixteen he had nothing to lose, and went in search of the gang. By a trail of events he was quickly initiated, accepted, and sent on a mission which, excessively bloodily, he completed with ease and no remorse. Not all The Paladins are intermittently evil, of course, but a large majority were, and Garret was welcomed straight in. Nowadays, he’ll do any task he’s given just to get a pot shot at Robin Hood and The Merry Men.
